The Creative Camp Ticino Interactive Storytelling and New Narrative Formats is a completely unique event in Southern Switzerland on the new opportunities offered by interactive audiovisual narrative and its development across multimedia platforms.
The Creative Camp is a meeting place for creative companies focusing on cross-media practices and projects, it is a three-days workshop that aims to strengthen and innovate the participants’ projects, their production and distribution strategies and to connect them with an international network of professionals and audiovisual experts.
The Lab is project-oriented and offers to filmmakers, storytellers, creative producers and designers with original ideas the possibility to take part to a Masterclass and to the Development Lab: participants will apply the skills and methods while they are learning them in the practical development of a working-concept for an interactive audiovisual project (fiction or nonfiction)  – i.e. a story developing a non-linear storytelling and intending to integrate extensively, at different stages of the project, the new potential of digital technologies and an active user participation, and that is conceived for the web and/or tablet computers and/or other mobile devices. The projects may also be conceived as a development across multiple media of a previous linear film or TV production, on condition that each new content will adopt a transmedia approach: that is, it won’t simply replicate the same contents to the new media but will develop its own unique perspective on the whole story. Through the Development Lab the participants’ concepts will be discussed and refined with international mentors and experts, getting the best advantage in terms of content development, planning of the audience experience, interaction design, funding strategy and professional networking. Participants will thus be accompanied in the definition and refining of a first working concept which will be able to be professionally put into further development or pre-production.

During the Creative Camp, new media and audiovisual industry professionals will target the following issues:

  • how-to develop interactive storytelling projects;
  • innovation in methods for audience engagement;
  • new audiovisual formats for integrated communication strategies.

The skills exchange fostered by the Creative Camp points also to facilitate effective collaborative processes among professionals of the alpine space creative industry, as well as practical skills development able to support the audiovisual industry’s new entrepreneurships.
